Senior Associate Leads Effort To Equip Leaders In The Black Preaching Tradition Starts This Fall7/27/2024 “Having a deeper understanding of Black Preaching and its roots has been transformative for my ministry,” said Anthony Bobo, Jr. (Senior Associates, The Joseph Factor Group). “It has given me a new perspective on how to effectively communicate the Gospel and reach the hearts of my congregation. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of leading the effort for others to learn from experienced preachers who have paved the way for us.” The partnership between The Lilly Foundation, City To City North America, and Influential Global Ministries is committed to equipping and empowering leaders in America to be effective communicators of the Gospel. Through a deep appreciation for the art of Black Preaching, participants are not only equipped with practical skills but also inspired to be agents of change in their communities. The partnership aims to revive and elevate the art of Black Preaching, recognizing its historical significance and power to inspire and transform communities. Participants are equipped with tools and resources to incorporate the principles and techniques of Black Preaching into their own ministries, enabling them to engage with their congregations on a deeper level. Dr. Efrem Smith emphasized the importance of not only learning about Black Preaching but also appreciating its cultural context and relevance. “Black Preaching is not just about delivering a good sermon, it is about connecting with the hearts and minds of the people, addressing their struggles and aspirations,” he said. “By understanding and embracing the rich heritage of Black Preaching, we can effectively influence culture and bring about positive change in our communities.” The cohort experience allows participants to build relationships and network with like-minded leaders from across the country. They are encouraged to share their own experiences and insights, creating a supportive environment for growth and learning. The coaching sessions with experienced preachers provide additional guidance and mentorship, enabling participants to refine their preaching skills and enhance their ability to communicate the Gospel effectively. Bobo continues, “I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this partnership and to be able to impact lives through the power of Black Preaching. I believe that by embracing and understanding our rich heritage, we can inspire hope, bring healing, and transform the lives of those we serve.” Registration is open for Fall Session for The Clarion Call Of The Reconciler- African American Preaching In A Diverse Culture Compelling Preaching Cohort.
