Influential Global Ministries (IGM) is focused on equipping and releasing cross-cultural, reconciling, justice-oriented, and metropolitan disciple-makers through leadership development, church planting movements, and church revitalization. IGM is a separate nonprofit that partners with Midtown Covenant Church to reproduce healthy African American, multiethnic, and metropolitan churches and leaders. Senior Associate Anthony D. Bobo, Jr Serves on the IGM Team as leader of their special initiatives. Recently, Redeemer City To City (non-profit organization with a mission to prayerfully help leaders start and strengthen churches to advance the gospel together in their cities) partnered with IGM to secure the Lilly Compelling Preaching Grant. Through this partnership, they seek to build on established networks of urban congregations across the United States by training compelling preachers who are then able to communicate effectively to the diverse audiences within their cities. Cities need leaders who can preach experiential, Christ-centered, redemptive-historical, non-moralistic messages over a lifetime of ministry. “Asking God how we can serve, inspire, and inform leaders who desire to reach souls through the transforming Gospel of Christ has been my burden” shares Anthony D. Bobo, Jr (The Joseph Factor Group, Senior Associate). Bobo expresses further, “Dr. Efrem Smith (IGM, President) had already created a curriculum for his years of experience in preaching, pastoring, and leading. My task was how do we align the curriculum, desired experience, and meaningful impact. God gave us the answer, “The Clarion Call Of The Reconciler- African American Preaching In A Diverse Culture”.” “The Clarion Call Of The Reconciler- African American Preaching In A Diverse Culture Compelling Preaching Cohort” examines approaches to preaching and teaching for ministry in a 21st century context still grappling with racism, sexism, classism, and other forms of systemic injustice and oppression. It will explore practical ways in which preachers and teachers in the local church can engage the complex and multi-layered social issues impacting their communities and neighborhoods through the art and science of biblically rooted, theologically informed, and justice-oriented homiletics. The Preaching Cohort starts the 2024 Fall. For more information check out: https://www.influentialglobalmin.org/ Comments are closed.
